Alice Louise (Pape) HeuserDecember 8, 1944 ~ September 2, 2017 (age 72)
Hampton, NY – Alice L. (Pape) Heuser passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Glens Falls Hospital, surrounded by her loving family after her battle with cancer.
Born December 8, 1944 in Queens, NY, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Alice (Coddington) Pape.
Alice worked as a registered nurse, working at various hospitals during her career, including Mary McClellan, Centers for Living & Rehabilitation in Bennington, VT., Hoosick Falls Health Center, Seton Health System, and Glens Falls Hospital. She received her Associates Degrees in both Arts, Liberal Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences and Nursing from SUNY Adirondack in 1988, her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from SUNY Plattsburgh in 1990 and her Master of Science, Educational Psychology & Statistics from SUNY Albany in 1991.
She loved to spend time with her grandchildren, whether it be watching them play football, taking them to the beach or just showering them with affection.
Besides spending time with her family and friends, Alice also enjoyed traveling, especially to Maine and Tennessee, taking photographs of both her family and wildlife (for which she was affectionately known as ‘Grandma Camera’), being an active member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses since 1980, her pets and Native American history and culture.
Alice is survived by her brother Howard (Howie) Pape and his wife Donna, her son Chris (Bonnie) Heuser, her daughter Monica Bisson (Lon Peters), her son Carl (Amanda) Heuser, her son Craig (Jill) Heuser and her grandchildren Sean and Erika Heuser, Schyler Bisson, Alex, Alannah, Nathan, Korie, Elijah and Malachi Heuser, and Vivi Heuser. She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1000 Route 22, Cambridge, NY, at 6pm on Wednesday, September 6th.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to all of the staff on the oncology unit and the ICU at Glens Falls Hospital for their exceptional care of our mother and sister, and the support given to her family.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Alice Heuser.
